Towards the end of 2021 I was contacted by Superside - “a fully remote tech-enabled design company targeting the very best designers and project managers from top-tier agencies anywhere in the world. Today, we have over 500 employees in over 60 countries”.
They needed images for their client Sittercity. I called up my trusty new producer friend, Jessica Lupton to help me put together a quote for them and do all the hard work of wrangling models, props, legal agreements etc. And all within a very short time frame. We needed to do the shoot before Christmas and deliver the first two image concepts and video before the end of December.
The concept was to create images for four different Babysitters along with the kids that they were looking after and show the sitter and child relationship and them coming across as buddies. The four different characters were, the Artist, the Dodgeballer, the Bug Collector and the Dancer. Oh and did I mention this included video, showing the same thing.
All within one day.
No pressure.
I would say the most difficult thing about the day was communicating with the client and the agency because everyone was in a different time zone.
From Brazil, to the Netherlands and Chicago.
And the second most difficult part was the youngest kid had A LOT of energy and he was also last on set, but with that being said we just “ran” with it and it all worked perfectly in the end.
Oh and the spider was a little bit camera shy, but the animal wrangler managed to coax her out eventually and the leaf insect was so awesome and beautiful.
